Marja Helander

Marja Helander (s. 1965) asuu ja työskentelee Helsingissä. Helander valmistui taidemaalariksi Lahden Taideinstituutista vuonna 1992 ja valokuvaajaksi Taideteollisesta Korkeakoulusta vuonna 1999. Helanderin töitä on ollut esillä yksityis- ja yhteisnäyttelyissä sekä Suomessa että ulkomailla hänen valmistumisestaan lähtien. Töissään hän on pohtinut identiteettiään oman saamelaisen taustansa kautta. Viimeaikaisessa tuotannossaan Helander on keskittynyt maisemiin, joissa tummat, salaperäiset näkymät esitetään ilman ihmistä. Teoksissa ihmisen ja luonnon nykyinen suhde näyttäytyy paremminkin synkkänä kuin sopusointuisena.
